Credit tracking app

Overview

The Credits widget is designed to help you easily track how many credit hours you have earned and how many are in progress.

If enabled on your platform, the Credits widget will display in the right panel of your home page dashboard if you have earned credits or in-progress credit hours. The Credits widgets displays:
  1. Credits earned are the credit hours you have earned by completing credit earning courses or classes.
  2. Credits in progress are the credit hours of the courses or classes you have begun, but not yet finished.

You can also view the Credits widget on your profile page. To view your profile page:
  1. Click your profile picture.
  2. Locate the Credits widget in the right panel.

If credit tracking is enabled on your platform, the credit hours you can earn for a course or class are displayed below the course title. In the example below, the credit hours are displayed in the Enrolled tab a user's profile page.

Installing the Credit tracker app

To enable the Credits widget, administrators must install the Credit tracking app. To install the Credit tracking app, administrators:
  1. Click Admin from the primary navigation menu.
  2. Click App center from the fly-out menu.
  3. Click Install on the Credit tracking app in the Credentialing section.

Adding the Credits widget to the dashboard 

After installing the Credit tracking app on the platform, administrators can add the Credits widget to the dashboard. To add the Credits widget to the dashboard, administrators:
  1. Click the Edit widgets  icon on the home page dashboard.

  1. Drag and drop the Credits widget from the Available widgets column to the widget column on the right.
  2. Click Save.

The Credits widget will now display on the home page dashboard for users who have earned credit hours or have credit hours in progress.

Assigning credits to courses 

To assign credits to courses and classes, instructors and administrators:
  1. Access the course or class.
  2. Click Admin from the course navigation menu
  3. Click Basics from the fly-out menu.
  4. Click Edit in the Settings section.
  5. Enter the Credits for the course or class.
  6. Click Save
