Navigation

Overview

The platform is designed to help you quickly navigate learning content, resources and collaborate with other users.

The interface is comprised of several key elements to help you navigate efficiently through the platform:
  1. The primary navigation menu.
  2. The top navigation bar.
  3. The Help center.
  4. The Admin icon. 

Primary navigation menu

The primary navigation menu always displays and allows you to quickly navigate to the main areas of the site, such as Home, Courses, Goals, Groups, Users, Resources and more. The primary navigation menu allows you to access these tabs regardless of where you are on the site.

Note that administrators can adjust which features are available on the primary navigation menu for your site.

Courses

When you hover over the Courses tab, a fly-out menu appears with common course related information including:
  1. Courses you are Teaching (instructors).
  2. Your Enrolled courses (all users).
  3. The course Catalog, which includes all courses on your site.
  4. A List of courses.
  5. The ability to Enroll in more courses.
  6. The ability to Add a course (for instructors and administrators).

When you select a course, a secondary course navigation menu appears.
The course navigation menu displays tabs directly related to the course such as modules, assessments, scores, resources, learners and more.

Note that the primary navigation menu is still available in a condensed view.

Course content is available in modules.
When you begin a module, a table of contents displays. To expand or contract an individual module, click the up or down arrow icon.

Conveniently, the condensed primary and secondary navigation menus are still available while you navigate the module, allowing you to quickly navigate to other areas of the platform when needed.

Groups

When you hover over the Groups tab, a fly-out menu appears with common group related information including:
  1. Groups you belong to.
  2. The group Catalog.
  3. The ability to Join a group.
  4. The ability to Add a group (instructors and administrators only).

If you are an administrator for a group, the crown icon displays.

Users

When you hover over the Users tab, a fly-out menu appears with common user groups based on your role:
  1. Friends.
  2. My instructors.
  3. My circle.
  4. Administrators (administrators only)
  5. Instructors (instructors and administrators only) 
  6. Learners (instructors and administrators only)

Resources

When you hover over the Resources tab, a fly-out menu appears with options including:
  1. Business: A list of business resources.
  2. Uploaded files: a list of your uploaded files.
  3. Catalog: A page that includes all platform resources. 
  4. Add: The ability to add new resources (instructors and administrators only).

Reports

When you hover over the Reports tab, a fly-out appears with options including:

  1. History: Reports you have previously run.
  2. My reports: Your active reports.
  3. Scheduled: Reports you have scheduled to run in the future.
  4. Catalog: A catalog of all reports.
  5. Add: The ability to add a new report.

Shortcuts

If your site administrator has configured shortcuts for your platform, they are displayed as Shortcuts in the primary navigation menu.

Admin

Click Admin for a menu of all administrator related functionality, include the App Center.

Admin is only available for administrators.

Help

Click Help at the bottom of the navigation bar to access the Help center.

The options available in the Help center vary based on the setup of your platform and your role. Some of the available options can include:
  1. Knowledge base: The knowledge base displays help articles based on role, and includes a robust search option to help you locate the information you need.
  2. Learner help desk: If available, the learner help desk allows users to post questions directly to their help administrators.
  3. Customer support center: The customer support center is generally only available to administrators.

Top navigation bar

The top navigation bar menu always displays and allows you to quickly access the search bar, messages, notifications, calendar, trash can, your profile and the Help center.

Click the Search bar to quickly search for courses, groups, users, resources and more.

Messages

Click the message icon to see a list of your most recent messages.

  1. Click See all to view a complete list of your messages.
  2. Click + New message to send a new message.
  3. Click Configure to change your message settings.

Notifications

Click the notifications icon to see your most recent notifications.

  1. Click See all to view a complete list of your notifications.
  2. Click Mark all read to acknowledge that you have read all notifications.
  3. Click Configure to change your notification settings.

Calendar

Click the calendar icon for a calendar view of your upcoming events.

Trash

Click the trash icon to see your recently deleted items.

Profile

Click your profile picture to view, edit and update your profile.

Click the drop-down menu on your profile picture for additional settings:

  1. Toggle dark mode: Switch your display between dark and light mode.
  2. Help: Access the Help center
  3. Print this page: Opens a text document of the current page. You can print or save a pdf version of the text document.
  4. English (US): Update your language settings.
  5. Log out: Log out of the platform.

Collaboration

Online Widget

The Online widget displays your friends, colleagues and other learners who are currently online.

When you hover over a user, a pop-up appears.
The pop-up allows you to:
  1. Message the user.
  2. Start an online chat with the user.
